You have to be able to keep up if you’re going to get the shot. Understanding the demands of photographing athletes means getting out there and doing it yourself. Through the years, first as a hobby, and now professionally, I’ve collected gear that allows me to hang from a bolt, kick ice, or run up a forcella in the name of getting the shot.
