Sour: Helping You Get Lost

Several years on, and years after I left, Sour Bicycles continues to grow and follow the path set forth in 2022. Sour’s design language, brand, and visual identity is now immediately recognizable through years of consistent adherence to the guidelines laid out.

Made in Dresden

Years later, Sour continues to produce work that follows the visual direction we established during this period. I wasn’t involved in this film, but that’s precisely why it’s a useful example: the identity was designed to outlast any individual photographer, filmmaker, or creative team. By balancing contemporary visual trends with a production style that was realistic for a small independent brand to achieve consistently, we created a language that could remain recognizably Sour while continuing to evolve. Seeing those same principles reflected in the brand’s work today is a strong validation of that approach—distinctive, adaptable, and achievable without relying on large budgets or overly complex productions.
